Charles "Lee" Nicely

1944 - 2023

Charles 'Lee' Nicely, a native of New Orleans and a resident of Metairie, passed away on Tuesday, February 14, 2023, at the age of 78. Lee was born on November 19, 1944, to Bernice Scherer Nicely and Robert C. Nicely. He is survived by his son Jody Nicely, granddaughters Krystyna Nicely, Savannah Sticker, and Ciara Lopez, cousins Diane S. Landry, Susan C. Deidrich, Lynne S. Dupuy, Leah S. Fenton, David Cato, and Leane Scherer, and a host of family members and friends. Lee worked in the finance industry until he retired in December of 2021. He was an LSU football season ticket holder for decades, reluctantly giving them up when physically unable to navigate the stadium stairs. He was an avid traveler making several trips to the United Kingdom and Europe. Lee enjoyed family get togethers, using the computer, reading, and watching sports on TV. Family, friends, and past co-workers are invited to attend a Memorial Mass, on Monday, February 27, 2023, at 1:00 pm at Greenwood Funeral Home, 5200 Canal Blvd., New Orleans, LA, 70124.
