Cheryl Offner Obituary

Cheryl Lynette Offner was born on March 31, 1962, to Lawrence Elijah Batiste and Joyce Marie Ruffin Batiste. Her life paused tragically on January 24, 2024. After graduating from McDonogh 35, she was given a full scholarship to Xavier University. She worked as a valued employee of Chase Bank for 42 years, receiving several rewards for her excellent performance and customer care. As one of Jehovah's Witnesses, she attended the Uptown Congregation though her full-time volunteer ministry which brought her and her husband around the world actively supporting the Bible teaching and relief efforts. Preceding her in death were her brother, Lawrence Antoine Batiste, sister, Paula Denise Batiste and parents, Lawrence Batiste and Joyce Marie Batiste, both of whom she lovingly cared for until their passing. Left to mourn her death are her beloved husband, Kirby Offner, sister, Yvette Batiste Ingram, brother, Antonio Batiste, their mates, and her adoring nieces and nephews. Her large, spiritual family is also grieving as they have been in various ways touched by her example and her kindness. A Memorial Service for Cheryl Offner will be held on Saturday, February 3, 2024 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 1831 A. P. Tureaud Ave., New Orleans, LA 70116 for 4:00 p.m. Guestbook Online: www.anewtraditionbegins.com (504) 282-0600. Linear Brooks Boyd and Donavin D. Boyd Owners/Funeral Directors.

Please accept my deepest, heartfelt sympathy. Cheryl was always so sweet and kind whenever I visited her at the Chase Bank. She would always enquire about my family, especially my two grown children of whom she had fond memories of when they were very young. We will truly miss Cheryl and will always think of her in our future trips to the bank.
