CHESTER HELMUTH Obituary

Chester George Helmuth, age 87, a native of Fresno, California and a resident of Madera County since 1950, passed away in the early hours of Monday, July 2, 2012, at his residence. Chester was a raisin grower for all of his life, farming in the Ripperdan area of Madera County. He grew up in the Kerman area of Fresno County graduating from Kerman High School, later attending Fresno State College. Chester was a veteran of the US Air Force, serving during World War II. Chester married Nadine Foss in 1945 and they were married for 64 years until her passing in 2010. They attended the former Cross Church of Fresno and were members of the Raisin Bargaining Association. Chester is survived by a daughter, Cheryl Helmuth of Madera; a son, Glen Helmuth of Fresno; his sister-in-law, Freida Wolf of Spokane, Wa.; and by numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held at Jay Chapel in Madera on Thursday, July 5, 2012, from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. A Graveside Service will be held at Mountain View Cemetery in Fresno on Friday, July 6, 2012, at 10:00 a.m. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the American Diabetes Association, 2720 Gateway Oaks Drive # 110, Sacramento, Ca. 95833.
