On Thursday, April 15, 2021, Christopher Charles deCastro, loving son and brother, passed away at the age of 36. Chris was born December 09, 1984 in Kenner, Louisiana, to George and Julia (Rivera) deCastro. Chris was known by all to have a heart of gold. He was selfless, kind, loving and sincere; always wanting to help others. His generosity and funny personality touched the hearts of all who knew him. He was always joking and offering words of compassion, empathy, and optimism; with such compassion, he was nicknamed Gandhi. Chris loved driving his Corvette and took great pride in it. He had a love for music, movies and playing disk golf whenever possible. He was a wonderful son, brother and friend. Chris was preceded in death by his grandparents Esteban and Aracelis F. deCastro, Carlos Rivera and Norma Diaz. He is survived by his parents, George and Julia deCastro, his brother, Jorge deCastro, sisters, Monica deCastro Gover (Jay Gover) and Ashley deCastro, nieces, Bella and Mia, his nephew Blaine and many cousins, aunts, and uncles. Visitation will be held at Mothe Funeral Home, 2100 Westbank Expressway, Harvey, La 70058 on Tuesday, April 20, 2021 from 11AM-1PM. A prayer service will follow in the chapel at 1PM. Respectful of current guidelines, all attendees must wear their own mask/face covering and practice distancing.
