Precious Nicette, Glenn and Family...You have each been on my heart and in my prayers since I heard about Colin from my precious friend Nina. Words are totally inadequate to express my sorrow for the loss of your precious child. However, reading the postings and what I knew of Colin, this will be deeply felt by many. He is now with Our Heavenly Father and try to take comfort in knowing what a fine young man and physician you raised and have now given back. He has blessed others abundantly with his kindness, goodness and graciousness....making this life much better for all of those that were priviledged to know Colin.
You each remain in my prayers and rosaries.

Mr. and Mrs. Goodier...
Please know my thoughts and prayers are with you and all of Colin's family. I heard of your loss through a friend who lives and practices medicine in New Orleans. It is not easy to grasp why such a vital, young man, and promising physician would have to loose his life at the mere age of 29. I did not know Colin, but in reading the sentiments on the website, I know he touched many people in a positive way...an inspiration, a motivator, a person with a ready smile, and a keen sense of humor, a friend to all. It is so easy to focus on the tragedy of his passing. Our family knows all too well the pain of this type of loss. Circumstances have dealt our families the irony of life. Our son, John, graduated from Tulane in 2005. As he was prepared to begin his neurosurgery residency, he was run over and killed in New Orleans by a truck while waiting at a red light next to his bike. He, too, was 29. We share a loss, but we also share a blessing that our sons' lives have impacted others in a way that will continue to live on in the hearts of so many.

My deepest sympathy goes out to your family, for I can not begin to imagine the depth of your loss. Since I learned of Colin's death, I have pictured him walking down the halls of University Hospital as he did so many times. When I would see him, his coat would be open, scrubs mismatched and untucked and a huge smile on his face. It is the memory I have in my mind of your son and family member, one that I will carry with me and cherish-- he was a remarkable person and physician.

Colin was an excellent physician and a dream to work with. With a smile always on his face he would brighten the room as soon as he walked in. He was well respected and very muched loved by the people he worked with. He was a man who you looked up to and hoped that you could be at least half as good as him. He was kind and passionate. He will be greatly missed by all. I can not even imagine the loss of a child or what your family is going through, but I can say I hope my son grows up to be the type of man Colin was. He was one of God workers and now he has moved to a greater task. He will be greatly missed at Earl K Long.

Colin was an amazing person. I am a fellow resident, one year below him, and I worked with him during my first two months as an intern. He was patient, walked me through cases, and was always available when I needed help. We all know how smart and able he was as a surgeon. What is even more impressive, was how down to earth and caring he was as a friend and colleague. We all loved him, he will be missed dearly.

Colin was a tremendous physician and an even better friend. I had the privilege of meeting Colin in my first year of medical school and we remained close friends thereafter. He was a wonderfully gifted individual who excelled not only in academics and sports but also in his ability to help others. On more than one occasion I have been approached by medical students telling me how much they enjoyed working and learning from Dr. Goodier. This is only a small testament to the type of individual Colin was. My thoughts and prayers are for his family, friends, and patients who all lost him too soon.

I first met Colin when he was my medical student at LSU while I was completing my internal medicine residency. Colin was one of the most brilliant medical students I ever had the honor of working with. Not only was he wise beyond his years, but his personality and empathy for his patients demanded respect. Our friendship matured throughout the remainder of his medical school years and during his years of residency. Colin had a zest for life that was unmatched. All of us who were fortunate enough to have witnessed his life and work are better physicians and people for having had the opportunity. I speak for the rest of Colin's friends when I say that we will miss him dearly, and the brief time we had Colin in our lives will never be forgotten.
