He was my friend...
The last time I saw Darren was at the race track in Baker. It also happened to be the first time I had seen him in about 10 yrs. He hadn't changed one bit. Still sporting a "rattail" and a few more tatto's than I remember, I thought I had stepped back to 1985. We spoke for a few moments of life, and the different roads we had traveled to get to that moment in time. We laughed and cut up like we were back in high school, and reminiscenced about the different high jinks we pulled and the trouble we got into in high school.
(Hey, remember when they 1st. came out with Jack & Cola in a can, and we snuck in 2 6 pks. to school, and drank both 6 pks. before 1st. hr was over, then piled all the cans in the upstairs boys bathroom, Matthews and Bingham liked to have had a heart attack, they were standing in the hallways watching everbody and kind of sniffing the wind)Yes, Darren was truly one of a kind. And my life is better for having known him.
Although he never knew it, I always thought highly of him, so highly I named my oldest son ...

Though we never met Darren we felt we knew him through Miss Jane. He became a very important part of our lives over the last few months. His strength and courage never waivered. He was a remarkabe young man. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all and will continue to be.
Miss Jane you are an amazing woman and we are proud to call you friend and family. Always remember we love you and if you have a need great or small just give a yell.
