Darwin Lee Obituary

LEE Mr. Darwin Hansford Lee, age 85, of Highway 106, Martin, GA, passed away Monday, January 14, 2008 at the Toccoa Nursing Center. The son of the late R.H. and Alda Pearl Bland Lee, he was born July 24, 1922 in Metter, GA having lived for most of his life in New Orleans, LA and in Martin since 1992. He received his B.S. Degree in Dairy Science and later was employed with Kraft Co. as the plant manager in the environmental control department for 38 years. He was a U.S. Army Veteran having served in WWII and was a member of the Vetenary Corps and the VFW Post 8012 in New Orleans. He was also a member of the New Orleans East B.C. and a member of the Masonic Lodge. He is survived by his wife, Caroline Watkins Lee; 3 daughters, Karen Edwards of Baton Rouge, LA, Beth Marrs of Free Port, LA, and Teresa Casey of Slidell, LA; step-daughter, Kimberly Marie Brown of Hull, GA; step-son, Wesley Alvin Hooper of Mt. Airy, GA; 8 grandchildren; and 3 great grandchildren. Funeral Services will be held Sunday, Jan. 20, 2007 at 2:00PM at Hillcrest Chapel of the Acree-Davis Funeral Home with the Rev. Truitt Brawner officiating. The family will receive friends at Acree-Davis Funeral Home from 7:00 - 9:00PM on Saturday evening. Private interment services will take place at a later date with The Acree-Davis Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
