David Labourdette Obituary

David Peter Labourdette who was one of a kind, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, March 20, 2018 at Ochsner Foundation. He was married to the love of his life, Phyllis Raphael Labourdette, for 36 years. He was blessed with his precious daughter and only child, Emily Labourdette Greer, her husband, Charles and their daughter, Marigny Louise Greer. He was the son of the late Bernard and Ethel Morlier Labourdette. Brother of Susan Kaufmann (Allen Sr.) and the late Gerald Labourdette and Bernard Labourdette. He is also survived by his nephews, Clint Kaufmann, Ryan Kaufmann and Allen Kaufmann, Jr. in addition to many other nieces, nephews and relatives. David had an immense love for Mardi Gras, serving as a float lieutenant and member of the Krewe of Endymion for 35 years and was an avid LSU fan. He was passionate about decorating for the holidays and was always the life of the party. Of utmost importance to him was making sure everyone he knew felt welcomed and loved. Whether he was grilling or just cruising in his golfcart, David knew how to enjoy himself. His lively spirit and magnetic presence will be greatly missed! Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the visitation and service to honor David on Monday, March 26, 2018. Visitation will be held from 11:00 am until 2:00 pm followed by a service at 2:00 pm at Garden of Memories Funeral Home, 4900 Airline Drive in Metairie, LA, (504) 833-3786. Interment will be in St. John Mausoleum located in Garden of Memories Cemetery. The online guestbook is available is at www.gardenofmemoriesmetairie.com.

Dear Phyllis, Emily and Susan. Words cannot express how very sad I have been since I heard of David's passing. My heart feels like it is broken. I remember seeing David come into the world now I am seeing him leave. He was much loved by me and my son and shall be missed. May God give you the strength to go through this grieving period and know that he has been reunited with his family in heaven.
