David Oxford Obituary

OXFORD David Paul Oxford, age 57, lost his battle with cancer on 12/13/11 at 3:47am. David was born in Akron, Ohio and resided in Metairie, LA. He leaves behind his loving and devoted wife, Kathleen Rockenbaugh Oxford. Left behind to cherish his most precious memories are his children: Jeremie (Mary), Jessica, Angelique (Joseph), Joshua (Brooke) and Jerry. He was the brother of Rickey Oxford and Cheryl Gros (Terry). Proud grandfather of 5 grandchildren and 1 unborn grandchild. David was preceded in death by his parents: Marvin E. Oxford and Doris P. Oxford, siblings: Steven Oxford and Marvin E. Oxford II and his son, Jesse Oxford. Also left behind are his faithful dogs Zeke and Candy. David was a special brother to Jody and Cheryl McDonald and also leaves behind his "Sweetheart" Bertha. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Lakeside Hospice and David's nurse, Erin Nolan. Visitation will be held at First Baptist Church of New Orleans, 5290 Canal Blvd, New Orleans, La (behind Greenwood Cemetery) on Friday, December 16, 2011 from 6:00pm-10:00pm. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family request plants. Services entrusted to the caring staff of: Professional Funeral Services, Inc.
