Debra Denise Ducre Stokes departed this life on Sunday, November 14, 2021. Beloved wife of William A. Stokes, Jr. of 49 years; one daughter: Angela D Sutton (Mike), granddaughters Peyton and Kennedy Sutton, mother, Genevieve Ziegler, father-in-Law, William Stokes Sr., eight siblings: Karen Raymond, Janet Harrison (Malcolm), Nanette Ziegler, JoAnn Cryer (Cleveland), Joseph (Jose') Ziegler Jr, Valerie Gautier, Jerome Marcel and Isadore (Peter) Ziegler. Debra, a dedicated and faithful member of Mt. Olive AME Church in Slidell, retired from Exxon Mobil after many years and began a 2nd career as a Substitute Teacher after receiving her bachelor's degree in Mathematics from Southern University at New Orleans. She was preceded in death by her father Jesse James Ducre and stepfather, Joseph Ziegler Sr. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral services at Mt Olive AME 2457 Second Street, Slidell, La,. on Wednesday, November 24, 2021. Visitation will be from 9:00-11:00am and all are welcome. Due to Covid-19, seating for the service will be limited to close friends and family.
