Deleste Elise White

Deleste Elise White entered peacefully into eternal rest on Friday, January 14, 2022, at the age of 56. She was a native of Gulfport, MS and a resident of New Orleans, LA. Deleste obtained an associate degree in phlebotomy. She retired from Ochsner Medical Center Main Campus after many years of service, as a phlebotomist and physician's assistant for Dr. Alvin Darby. Deleste was an active member of Israel Baptist Church, where she was president of the Women's Ministry and secretary of Westside Baptist Association Congress of Christian Education. Loving mother of Shante' White Nelson, Crystal Lord, Trindin Darby, and Cutler Darby. Beloved daughter of Delmar E. White, Sr. and Juanita C. Jones. Stepdaughter of George A. Jones. Sister of Terrance White, Troy White, Darryl White, Sr., Delmar White, Jr., Tamara White, and Tanya Reine. Deleste is also survived by 5 grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers, and members of Israel Baptist Church and all neighboring churches are invited to attend the Funeral Service at Israel Baptist Church, 1612 Esther St., Harvey, LA on Friday, January 28, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. Rev. Dr. Johnny McKinnies, officiating. Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. until service time at the above-named church. Interment: Woodlawn Park Memorial Cemetery-Westwego, LA.
