Donald Gaudet Jr.

Donald "Donnie" Joseph Gaudet Jr. passed away on Sunday, October 23, 2022 at age 62, after a courageous battle with lung cancer. He is survived by his mother, Gayle Gaudet; the love of his life, Joanie Jenkins who called him her "Little Piece of Heaven."; his siblings: Michele Anderson and husband Rod, Sharon Willis and husband Ronnie, David Gaudet and wife, Andrea, Douglas Gaudet and wife Maria; his children: James Wixted and wife Bee; Genevieve Gaudet, Duncan Gaudet and partner Lulu, Emily Gaudet and partner Charles, Angel Sheffield and husband Roy, Mikey Jenkins and partner Abe, Scott Jenkins and wife Christina; his grandchildren: Shelby and partner Tyler, Billie and Chelsie Sheffield, and Sienna Jenkins; and his great-grandchild, Carson Chenier. He was preceded in death by his father, Donald J. Gaudet Sr. Donnie was born in Metairie, LA and was an active community member of Ponchatoula, LA and Houma, LA. He was a member of the Hermitage Rod and Gun Club for over 40 years and enjoyed duck hunting and fishing at his camp in Myrtle Grove with his trusted duck retrieving dog, Remy. He was in the Krewe of Hercules in Houma. Donald worked at J&M Industries Inc. as Vice President for 38 years. He was the most patient person in the world, devoted to his family and will be missed by all of the lives he touched. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation on Friday, October 28, 2022 from 5:00 pm until 5:30 pm for family and 5:30 pm until 9:00 pm for friends at Chauvin Funeral Home, 5899 LA-311, Houma, LA and on Saturday, October 29, 2022 at Garden of Memories Funeral Home & Cemetery, 4900 Airline Drive Metairie, LA 70001 from 10:00 am until 12:00 pm with a Funeral Mass at 12:00 pm followed by burial.
