Dorothea LeBlanc Obituary

Dorothea "Dottie" Francis Scardino LeBlanc left this world peacefully Friday October 28, 2016 at the age of 79. She was a loving mother of four, Gerard LeBlanc (Randi), Robert LeBlanc (Stephanie), Thomas LeBlanc (Edwin) and Angela Huff (Dwight). Also survived by her ten grandchildren Christina, Nicole, Cara, Carie, Justin, Tony, Clayton, Christopher, Dottie, Clint, and eight great grandchildren. Daughter of the late Angelo Joseph Scardino and Melvina Francis Scardino. Dorothea grew up in a faith filled catholic household that shaped her into a loving, caring, single mother who raised strong and independent children. Her door was always open to feed and nurture any family or friends of family that walked in. Family values was a key part to who she was. She loved to watch football, especially her favorite teams, the Saints and the Chiefs. Always a hard working woman, she instilled that virtue in her children. She always found a way to help out by cooking, cleaning or just making someone feel better, even when she felt poorly. We will always love and remember her and carry her memory in our hearts. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation services on Friday November 4, 2016 from 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM at the Greenwood Funeral Home, 5200 Canal Blvd., New Orleans, LA 70124. Burial will follow at the Greenwood Cemetery. The family invites you to share your thoughts, fond memories, and condolences online, at www.GreenwoodFuneralHome.net

I am so glad that you are free of pain but we are the ones struggling now. We love you so much. Thank you for raising such wonderful children , especially Robert who you taught to be so loving, patient and kind. Thank you for taking me and treating me like one of your own children, even though the pieces didn't always fit. I know that you are up there Watching over us all, and holding your newest great grand baby until it is time for the arrival
Much love to you until we meet again

Maw Maw, The name I gave you because I could not pronounce Grandma. You are one of the best things that ever happened in my life. You were always loving, caring, and strict when I needed it, and I did. I love you more than life, I cannot believe I have to part from you but only in body never spirit because you are always with me. I pray with my whole heart and know you have found peace for eternity. My children Hannah,Aaron,Keara and Saren, your grandchildren love you with everything and thank you for always loving all through our flaws and successes. Beauty is defined by the name Dorothea Francis. I remember playing gin rummy with you all the time, buying me my favorite treats, secretly spoiling me and always just being there no matter what I needed. You were a and will always be the most beautiful woman I have ever known. May you rest in peace you sure have earned and God sent peaceful rest. I love you and adore everything about you and always will. My whole heart is yours always and forever.
Love Christina
