Dorothy Strickland Obituary

Dorothy Jean Trotter Strickland age 66, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, December 5, 2015, peacefully at her home. She was a native of Vossburg, MS and a resident of New Orleans, for many years. She was a member of New Kingdom MBC 3611 St. Ferdinand St. under the guidance and teachings of the late great Pastor Joseph Merrill. Beloved daughter of Mattie Trotter and the late Joe Trotter. Devoted wife of the late Willie Ed Strickland. Loving mother of Willie Ed Trotter Strickland, Jr. (Joyce Collin Trotter). Grandmother of Valice Marie Trotter. Sister of Gracie Segura (Raymond) of Baton Rouge, LA., Nellie Trotter (Alex Bell, III), Milton Trotter (Phyllis Trotter) and the late James Melvin Trotter and Ruthy Eddington. She is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also Pastors, Officers, and Members of New Kingdom MBC and all neighboring churches are all invited to attend the Funeral Service on Saturday, December 12, 2015 at 10:00am at New Kingdom MBC 3611 St. Ferdinand St. Rev. Henderson Officiating; Visitation will begin at 9:00am. Interment in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Professional Arrangements Entrusted to Majestic Mortuary (504) 523-5872.
