God Bless Doug Regan. I extend my deepest sympathies to his wife, children, and grandchildren.
Doug was instrumental in the formation of the Christian Brothers School Alumni Association and may well have been the one who uttered the fateful words "you guys should form an alumni association" as a number of us alumni sat around the brothers' dining room table at CBS in the waning hours of the 1986 foundation picnic, reminiscing about our years past at CBS.
Whether or not he was the one who actually spoke those words, it was Doug who pushed us to do just that. He organized the initial meetings of CBS alumni that ultimately became the alumni association and his office organized our initial mailings until we were able to get along "on our own". Although there was certainly interest among alumni at the time, it is doubtful that the organization would have come into existence without his prompting and involvement.
His dedication to the Brothers of CBS and the New Orleans - Santa Fe district is an example of "making a difference" that we can all strive to emulate. May he rest in peace.
O God, the Creator and Redeemer of all the faithful, give to your servant departed, Douglas Joseph Regan Jr, the full remission of his sins, that he may obtain the pardon he has always desired. You, who live and reign forever and ever. Amen.
Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord. And let perpetual light shine upon him. Amen.
May the angels lead him into Paradise, may the martyrs come to welcome him and take him to the holy city, the new and eternal Jerusalem. May the choir of angels welcome him where Lazarus is poor no longer; may he have eternal rest. Amen.
May his soul and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.

I'm so sorry to read about Doug in this mornings paper. Please accept my deepest sympathy.Doug was one of those guy's you don't run across to often in life.He was a most likeable person, I always enjoyed being in his company.
I met him when he worked at the Times-Picauyne many, many years ago which is where I retire from after 37 years in advertising.I did handle the advertising for Christian Brothers School so our paths did cross at times.
I know he will be missed by many people, he touched so many lives.
He will always be in my prayers as will his family.

My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family at this time. I worked with Doug and the Christian Brothers through the Foundation. He truly carried the Foundation new heights when he became the Development Director. I'm sure he and Br. Edward will watch over all of us.
