Earl Adam Luquet Jr.

Earl Adam Luquet, Jr passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 19, 2017 at the age of 79 after a long battle with Alzheimer's Disease. Son of the late Earl, Sr. and Olga Luquet and brother of the late Barbara Luke. He grew up in a small apartment in the back of his parents' restaurant, Clarence's Restaurant on St Claude Avenue. He met his late wife, Jacqueline "Jackie" Daquana, when he was 14 years old and they enjoyed a 52 year marriage before she passed away in 2009. Earl had two successful businesses in his lifetime including an Esso/Exxon station in New Orleans East and a long-time career as an insurance agent with New England Life. He served in the Louisiana National Guard at Jackson Barracks. His business success allowed him to purchase his dream home in Venetian Isles which became the site of many family and neighborhood gatherings. Following Katrina, Earl and Jackie moved to Jefferson, LA. He is survived by five children: Wade Luquet (Marianne), Dawn Luquet-Smith (Robert), Michele Verret (Clay), Neal Luquet (Laura), and Sue Valladares (Jose'), and twelve grandchildren he adored: Lauren, Cory, Alex, Bailey, Casey, Victoria, Rene', Ryan, Jessica, Madison, Tomas and Sofia. Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 30, 2017 from 9:00 am to 11:00 am at Garden of Memories Funeral Home, 4900 Airline Dr., Metairie, LA 70001 followed by a Graveside Service at 11:00 am in Garden of Memories Cemetery.
