Edward Gai Obituary

Edward Otto Gai Sr., beloved husband of the late Audrey Scanio Gai, passed away at the age of 87 on Friday, March 26, 2021 at 0218am. He was the son of the late Mr. & Mrs. Charles J. Gai Sr. and son-in-law of the late Mr. & Mrs. Anthony Scanio. He was the father of Edward, Jr (deceased)(Cyndi), David(deceased)(Carol), Dennis, Dan(Eva), Shirley McAllister(William), and Susan Prinz (Kurt). Grandfather of Amanda, Joseph(deceased), Stephanie, Thomas, Alex, Bridget, Eric, Kristen, Jonathan, Bryan, Kraig, Kris, and Kati; and multiple great-grandchildren. He was the brother of the late C.J. Gai and had a close friendship with his multiple cousins. He was a graduate of Samuel J. Peters High School, owned and operated The National Auto Parts Store on St. Claude, worked for Sherwin-Williams and the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees Greater New Orleans Stage and Exhibition – Local 39.
