Edward W. Kowal
1919 - 2002

DELTONA, FL - Edward W. Kowal, 83, a resident of Deltona, FL for the past 21 years and former long-time resident of Ludlow, died late Wednesday evening at the Halifax Convalescent Center of Daytona Beach, FL. He was born in Ludlow, the son of the late Michael and Mary (Trala) Kowal and was a graduate of Ludlow High School. He was employed for over 30 years with the former Monsanto Corporation of Indian Orchard as a Mixing Engineer, retiring in 1980. Mr. Kowal was a veteran of World War II serving with the United States Army Company D, 27th Tank Battalion, and was the recipient of the European African Middle Eastern theater Campaign Ribbon, American Theater Campaign Ribbon, Good Conduct Medal, and the WW II Victory Medal. He is survived by his wife of 21 years, Sylvia C. (Kowalczk) Boynton and leaves one son, Richard D. Boynton of Wilbraham, four grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. His funeral will be held Tuesday at 9:00 a.m. from the Orchard Funeral Home, 485 Main Street, Indian Orchard, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in Immaculate Conception Church with Rites of Committal held in Hillcrest Park Cemetery. Calling hours at the Orchard Funeral Home will be held Monday evening from 4 - 7 p.m. only.
