Edward Schenck Obituary

Edward J. "Pookie" Schenck passed away on Tuesday, January 17, 2017, at the age of 76, of heart failure. Eddie was born in New Orleans on October 11th, 1940. He was the son of the late George B. Schenck and Marcella Saacks Schenck. Eddie was married to his beloved wife, Cathy Spunizo Schenck for 56 years. Father of Edward "Rusty" Schenck, Jr. and his wife, Anne and Darrel Schenck and his wife, Margo. Grandfather of Loren, Leigh and Elizabeth. Great Grandfather of Kyle Edward. Brother of Charles, Herbert and Eugene. Eddie is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his siblings, Paul, Lena Platz, George, Louise Schwartz and Vivian Sylvia. Special thanks to the staff at Heart of Hospice for the loving care of Eddie Schenck. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at Greenwood Funeral Home, 5200 Canal Blvd., New Orleans, on Monday, January 23, 2017, starting at 10:30 AM, followed by a catholic service in the Chapel at 1:30 PM. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. The family invites you to share your thoughts, fond memories, and condolences online, at www.GreenwoodFuneralHome.net.
