Eglah Leticia Bennett

1923 - 2023

Eglah Leticia Bennett departed this earth on Saturday, January 28, 2023, at Touro Infirmary at the age of 99. She was born in Roaton, Honduras on May 3, 1923, to her late parents Cornelius Bennett and Lilydale Walter Bennett. Sister Bennett was very happy when Rev. Southall was coming to visit with her and when she received phone calls from her family and friends, especially Ms. Elvia James. She also enjoyed baking sour cream pound cakes. She was a seamstress by profession and worked at Deansgate Clothing and Textile Factory until her retirement in 1998. She was a lifelong member of Mount Zion Methodist Church. Sister Bennett leaves to cherish her memory her dedicated niece, Minna Trusty (Harley) and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends. She is preceded in death by six brothers: Alfred, Whitley, Samuel, Edward, Dolton and Charles Bennett; three sisters: Lunnett Valentine, Christine Bennett and Doris Hemmans. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Funeral Service at Mount Zion United Methodist Church, 2700 Louisiana Avenue, New Orleans, LA. 70115 on Wednesday, February 8, 2023 at 10:00 am.
