Eileen Gill Obituary

Eileen Anne Gill was a caring wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She left this world peacefully on June 6, 2024 at the of age 88. She was born in Lutcher, LA, and attended Ursuline High School and Maryville College. Eileen married Frank Fenerty in 1958. They had three children, Burke, Gill and Cynthia. Like most couples at the time, Eileen cared for the house and children. In 2002, Eileen married Donald Powell, together until Donald's death in 2015. Eileen enjoyed playing tennis with her friends. After her children grew up, Eileen ran Creative Hangups, a frame shop on the West Bank. She drove her little VW Diesel Rabbit back and forth from Lake Vista across the river every day. When Eileen retired, she took care of her young granddaughter, Hailey. Eileen is survived by her three children, Burke and his wife Kelli, Gill and his wife Eileen, and Cynthia and her husband Mitch, and her two grandchildren Hailey Fenerty and David Kusy. Sincere thanks to Kelli for taking care of our mother in her later years. Your kindness and patience with Mere went far beyond what anyone could ask for. Everyone she met was a friend, that was Mere.
