Elise Marie Bergeron Olsen, a longtime resident of Slidell, Louisiana, was born September 3, 1930, 90 years of age, passed away August 31, 2021 at the home of Michael and Sandy Olsen in Slidell Louisiana. Wife of the late Irwin J. Olsen Jr. and Patrick J. Naine. Beloved mother of five daughters and two sons; Sandy Olsen, Kathleen Olsen Smith, Michael P. Olsen, James F. Olsen, and Anne M. Olsen. Preceded in death by her daughters Mary Theresa Flickinger, Trina Louise Olsen and Granddaughter Melissa Anne Olsen. Grandmother to five, Joshua Michael Olsen, Andrew P J Olsen, Nathan Josef Flickinger, Jessica King, George William Smith and great-grandmother to J.D. King, Michael Antoni Olsen, and Isabella Rose Olsen. She was the daughter of the late Hervin Joseph Bergeron Sr. and Elise Marie Bienvenu Bergeron of Opelousas, La. Survived by sister Deretta "Det" Manuel of Lake Charles and Lyle E. Bergeron of Alexandria, La., preceded in death by her brothers, H.J. Bergeron Jr., Charles "Buddy" Ray Bergeron, Hugh Lester Bergeron, and Lannie E. Bergeron. Our mother had an infectious smile and humor that made a lasting Impression to all she met. She never entered a room in which she did not leave a lasting effect. She never met a stranger, beloved friends too many to list, and quick with a Cajun joke that could command any room. Family was paramount in her life, and she was steadfast in her Catholic Faith. Love and compassion for others she championed to those who couldn't champion for themselves. We will miss your smile, laughter and a zest for life in which all our lives have been inspired and cherish the memories you have instilled in us forever. "I`ll Drink to That", "If you don't have a Good Time it`s your own Damn Fault", "Laissez les bons temps rouler" and "Faith, Family, and Friends are what will get you through Life". Walk with God Mom, we love you. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church, 1050 Robert Blvd, Slidell, LA, on Saturday, September 18, 2021, at 11:00 am. Friends may visit at the church beginning at 9:30 am. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery in Slidell. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to Wounded Warriors or Red Cross for Hurricane Victims. Please visit www.honakerforestlawn.com to sign guestbook. I was shocked to hear of your Mom's passing. She was so strong of personality that I couldn't picture her passing. She was such a beautiful and loving person. I always felt good when in her presence because no matter how many people were in the room she had a way of making you feel like you were the only one. She was blessed in so many ways. I admired the way she took care of Swede in Jennings after Katrina. I was able to visit pretty often. She came to Scott to eat with Fr Tim and that was the last time I saw her. I lost contact after Swede Died but have never forgotten her. There is an emptiness that I feel. God bless ya'll for taking care of her Michael and Sandy and you too Anne. I know you know this but you children were her life. God bless you all.
