Elizabeth Jane Hyde "Betty" Lee

1943 - 2023

With sadness we announce the passing of Elizabeth "Betty" Jane Hyde Lee, a beloved wife, mother, and friend. She departed this world peacefully on June 22, 2023 at the age of 79. Betty was born in Amite, Louisiana on September 9, 1943, to parents Wilton and Hattie Hyde, both deceased. Betty was a remarkable woman who sought to bring joy to those around her. Generous and kind-hearted, Betty had a desire to make those around her feel special. As a young woman, she earned her cosmetology license and spent many years cutting others' hair. She enjoyed helping others feel and look their best. Another of her lifelong passions was painting. Her primary subject matter was often flowers. She liked to give away her paintings and as a result, we all have a "Betty original". In addition to her paintings, she delighted in surrounding herself with things that brought her joy. Betty is survived by her husband of 61 years, Kyun Lee, sons Keith (Teresa) and Kevin (Claudia), granddaughters Heather and Amanda, and brothers Hubert (Claudia) and Frank (Wanda) all whom she loved dearly. She was preceded in death by her sons, Edward and Preston (Cara). The family would like to extend a special thanks to the congregation of Parkview Baptist Church, where Betty was a long-time member. Additionally, heartfelt gratitude goes to her friends at Inspired Living, whose presence brought immeasurable happiness to her during her time there.
