Elizabeth Rogers Obituary

Elizabeth "Libby" Rogers, 90, born March 19, 1932, passed peacefully on March 4, 2023. She was predeceased by her mother Jennie Catherine Stinchcum and her father William Robert Stinchcum. She is survived by her husband James Arthur Rogers who passed 5 days later, brothers Douglass and Robert Stinchcum, son William Arthur Rogers, grandson James Bertrand Rogers, granddaughter Nicole Laurene Rogers, and great-granddaughter Piper James Rogers. Libby was one of the first six dental hygienists in New Orleans and was active in community service throughout her life, establishing Doctors Grove, a meditative respite of cypress trees in City Park and recipient of the Great Lady Award in 1978. She enjoyed golf, traveling, hunting and especially fishing. The mass and visitation will be held at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home on Thursday, March 23, 2023. Visitation begins at 11:00 a.m. until mass time at 12:00 p.m. Interment will follow at All Saints Mausoleum.
