Elmo Joseph Walker, Jr. passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Monday, January 8, 2024, at the age of 76. Elmo was born on October 29, 1947, in New Orleans, Louisiana to Elmo J. Walker, Sr., and Jeannette K. Walker, who predeceased him. Elmo leaves behind to cherish his memory his adoring wife of 50 years, Dorian Aldrich Walker, and his loving children Elmo Joseph Walker, III and Brandi Walker Dudoussat (Bryan). He was the proud grandfather of Claire Dudoussat, Colbie Dudoussat, and Camille Dudoussat. His brother, Robert Walker (Janis), and two sisters Cynthia Sausse and Debra Bruce (Joe Davi) also survive him. Elmo is preceded in death by his parents, his grandson Colston Dudoussat and two brothers-in-law; Bertrand Sausse and Jacky Bruce. Elmo's biggest love was his family, dogs and most of all, his 3 beautiful granddaughters. When he was not with his family, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, football, cooking and the casino. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at Greenwood Funeral Home, 5200 Canal Blvd, New Orleans, on Saturday, January 13, 2024, starting at 11:00 AM, followed by a Funeral Mass in the Chapel at 1:00 PM.
