Bro. Elwood "Herb" Wilson, Jr. died on Monday, August 18, 2014 at the age of 56. A Truck Drive for J.B. Hunt. He was an accomplished trumpet player. A formal U.S. Marine. He attended Southern University in Baton Rouge, LA. He graduated from Walter L. Cohen H.S.. He was a member of New Kingdom B.C. He is survived by his wife Rev. Cynedra K. Wilson, daughters Nedra L., Victoria, Daphne and Brent Elwood Wilson and step daughters Lameka Davis, Darshae Tate and Chakakhan Henderson. He is also survived by his 8 grandchildren, siblings Pamela and Bernard Hall, Nedra, Ivory, Kennith, Jessie, Terrelle, Tyron and Shelia Wilson and Treva and Reginald Thornton, aunts Vera Triggs, Louise Teems and Catherine Lewis, uncle Lionel (Carolyn) Mason. Preceded in death by his parents Daphne and Elwood Wilson, Sr. and grandparents Gertrude and Lawrence Mason and Jannie and John Wilson. Family, friends, pastor, officers and members of New Kingdom Baptist Church, Spiritual Sunlight Baptist Church, Carver Desire Baptist Church, Willing Vessell Ministry, Davita Dialysis, employees of J.B. Hunt Trucking Co., Headstart and UPS are invited to attend the Funeral Service on Saturday, August 23, 2014 for 10:00 A.M. at New Kingdom B.C., 3611 St. Ferdinand St., NOLA.
