EMIL OSSBOFF
Emil Ossiboff, 69 and a well respected builder in the Bridgeton area for many years died unexpectedly Sunday morning November 21, 2004 in the home he built. He had been a resident of Upper Deerfield Township for many years, having lived at the same address since 1960.
He was born in Romania and was the son of the late Peter and Rebekka Haisch Ossiboff. After living in Germany, he moved to Texas before relocating to the Seabrook area in the fall of 1952. Trained as a mason in Germany, he became a carpenter and builder, first working for Carmel Lumber and later becoming self employed. His long standing reputation as a builder of quality homes in the Bridgeton area lasted from his arrival in the area in 1952 until his retirement at age sixty-two at which time his son Robert has continued to build many homes in the same tradition.
Mr. Ossiboff was a member of the German Congregation of the Northville Lutheran Church and the president of the Church Council for the past twelve years. In addition, he was a member of the German American Club. Since his retirement he has enjoyed fishing as a hobby.
He is survived by his wife, to whom he was married since 1957, Erika (nee Wagner) Ossiboff, three daughters, Angelika Loper and her husband Dennis of Upper Deerfield Township, Linda Mellor and her husband Art of New Paltz, N.Y. and Lisa Ossiboff and her husband Tom Gaskill of Bethlehem, Pa., two sons, Robert Ossiboff and his wife Pam (nee Lindley) of Upper Deerfield Township and Emil Ossiboff Jr. of Stow Creek Township, four grandchildren, Robert, Richard and Ross Ossiboff and Amy Mellor, one brother, Helmut Ossiboff and his wife Monika of Vineland and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a granddaughter, Rachel Ossiboff.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday afternoon November 24 at 1 o’clock at the Northville Lutheran Church, Old Burlington Road, Upper Deerfield Township.
Pastor Heino Nurk will officiate.
The interment will be made at the church cemetery.
Friends will be received at the church on Wednesday from 11:30 until 1.
