Emile Durand Obituary

Emile Durand Jr., passed away peacefully April 5th at the age of 95. He is survived by his loving wife of 72 years, Eva Lightell Durand; daughters Deborah Durand and Rose Wade (Mark Mullins), and son Donald (Cheryl). He is also survived by 5 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Emile served in the U.S. Navy as a Seabee in WWII in Okinawa. He attended Delgado College and received a Machinist Certificate. Work and family were his focus in life. He was employed at Standard Brands for 45 years. He was an avid bowler and bowled until 94 years old. He was the father of all fathers. Services will be held at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, Destrehan, Friday April 23, visitation 9:30 - 11:30 with memorial mass to follow. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Emile's memory to the garysinisefoundation.org.

I will miss you and our first of the month breakfast dates. Whenever I am driving home from Destrehan I always keep reminding myself to call you when I arrive home. Do not cause too much trouble in heaven and give Lisa a big hug and kiss for me.
