Emma Mary Allen

Mrs. Emma Mary ''NANA'' Allen, Age 86 years, a native of Wallace, Louisiana. Resident of New Orleans, Louisiana, passed away on Wednesday, July 30, 2003. Mrs. Allen was a graduate of Booker T. Washington High School. She was a retired domestic worker. She was a member of the Sit and Chat Pleasure and Savings Club. She was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. Her parents, Mrs. Elouise Hymel Allen and Mr. William Allen preceded Mrs. Allen in death. She is the sister of three brothers, the late Freeman, Samuel and Thomas Allen; and three sisters, the late Francis Arment, Milthilda Barthalomew and Clematine Jasmin. Survivors include: her loving daughter, Mrs. Irma Smith Russell, two grandsons, Kerry D. Russell and Harry A. Russell; four great grandchildren, Erin, Karyn, Kerry, Jr., and Antoine Russell; Granddaughters-in-law, Stephanie Baptiste and Carla Spriggins. Also survived by a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, their children and grandchildren. Relatives, friends of the family, employees of Memorial Medical Center (Baptist Campus), Tulane Medical Center, City of New Orleans, East Jefferson General Hospital, Delgado Community College (City Park Campus) are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial from Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 4423 LaSalle St. (corner of Napoleon Ave.) on Monday, August 4, 2003 at 10:00 am.
