I will miss you Ernie, your smile, your honesty, your laugh, your presence here on earth is now a blessing in heaven. You were always so kind to me. When I was young and wet behind the ears you never looked down, you encouraged and your work ethics were a fine example to follow. I am a better person for knowing you. Peace, my friend. To your family, my deepest regards - missed, but certainly not forgoten.

To my sweet Jeannie, certainly..and to Chris and Julie and their spouses, Kay and Eddie (whom I have come to know...and wish I had known them longer and better)..and lastly, and perhaps most...to Lindsay and Kimberly..
I never knew Ernie as a Mason. I knew OF him..but never witnessed the cermonies, the pomp and circumstance that went with the important offices he held. But I applaud him for that, for it has shown the leadership fabric that permeated every other facet of his life.
I knew him only as a friend. And in that capacity, he will never be more than a whisper away. I knew him as someone who stood up with me at my marriage to Linda, when she and I both felt that we had very few friends in the world. And even though our loud plaid coats may have deserted the fashion world over the years, our friendship did not fade, nor did we let it tarnish through disuse or misuse.
I am so blessed, and will always feel blessed...for having been able to call him friend.
