Eugene "Gene" Franklin Sr.

Mr. Eugene "Gene" Franklin, Sr., age 79, lifelong resident of New Orleans, Louisiana passed away on Thursday March 7, 2024. He was a retiree of the New Orleans Public School System Transportation Department, a service member of the United States Army, construction Entrepreneur. He was a loving husband to Linda Van Buren Franklin, a dedicated father to Connie Brown, Shawanda L. Espadron, Eugene Franklin Jr., Jabbar Franklin, Treva Lynn Franklin, Jeanne Franklin, and a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents Mrs. Ida Mae & Mr. Andrew Franklin, and son Elliott Franklin. Their memories will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved them. Family and friends are invited to attend the Celebration of Life Service on Friday, March 15, 2024. The visitation will begin at 12:30 p.m. followed by a service for 1:30 p.m. at The Boyd Family Funeral Home, 5001 Chef Menteur Hwy., New Orleans, LA. The Reverend Ricky Johnson of Mt. Olive Baptist Church will be officiating the service, providing comfort and support to all who attend.
