Our beloved Eugene Wells, Sr. departed this life on Thursday, January 7, 2021 at 4:16 a.m. at Ochsner Medical Center-Kenner. Mr. Wells was born on December 21, 1934 in Fayette, MS and was a resident of Kenner, LA. He leaves to cherish his memories 3 children, Alvin Wells, Selia Porter and L.C. Wells. Also survived by 8 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, 1 sister, 1 brother and a host of great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents Willie Sr. and Ethel Wells, his wife Katie Lee Upton Wells and his son Eugene Wells, Jr. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastor, officers and members of Evening Star M.B.C. and all neighboring churches; employees of the City of Kenner, Reliable Disposal Co. and Atlantic & Pacific Transportation (A&P) are invited to attend the funeral service at Evening Star Missionary Baptist Church, 8926 Hickory St., New Orleans, LA on Saturday, January 16, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. Bishop Iram Chedikah officiating. Visitation 8:00 a.m. until time of service. Interment: Providence Memorial Park, Metairie, LA. Richardson Funeral Home of Jefferson, River Ridge, LA in charge of arrangements.
