Eugenia Linam Obituary

Eugenia Linam passed away peacefully on April 17, 2016 at the age of 100. She was born in Detroit, Michigan, the daughter of Joseph and Agnes Jakubiec. Jean was a member of the greatest generation. During WWII she worked as a "Rosie the Riveter" producing parts for airplanes. She met her husband in Detroit while he was in the Navy. They married November 23, 1944. They lived in several states and spent the last years in Metairie, LA. In 2011 she moved to Home Life in the Gardens in New Orleans where she enjoyed the final chapter of her life. She was the consummate homemaker: cooking, sewing and baking. She is survived by her four children: Joe Linam (Donna), Jeannie Kraus (Russ), Mickey Powell (Ken) and Lori Bird (Tom): two grandchildren, Michalene Sedgebeer (Fenner) and Adrienne Pertuit: and two great grandchildren, Emma Sedgebeer and Hunter Sedgebeer. She is predeceased by her husband, Clarence (C.J.) Linam. Her family was her life's greatest joy. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Service at Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 4747 Veterans Blvd. in Metairie on Wednesday, April 20, 2016 at 11:00 am. Visitation from 9:00 am until the time of the service. Interment will take place at Garden of Memories Cemetery in Metairie. Condolences may be offered at www.leitzeaganfuneralhome.com.
