Eva Mae Dutton Marrero

Eva Mae (Dutton) Marrero, a devoted caretaker and beloved family matriarch, passed away peacefully at her home in New Orleans, LA, on Wednesday, October 30, 2024. Born to the late Milton and Dorothy Dutton, Eva Mae was a cherished daughter, sibling, wife, mother, cousin, grandmother and friend. She married the late William Anthony Marrero in June 1955, and together they raised their son, the late William Anthony Marrero Jr. Eva Mae's legacy lives on through her family. She was the proud grandmother of Anthony William Marrero (Kya), Shawn Jacobs, Sarissa Jacobs and is lovingly remembered by her nine great-grandchildren. A caring foster mother to Brian and Cedric Steward, Eva Mae extended her love beyond her immediate family. She is survived by her sister, Shirley Mae Batiste and was preceded in death by her other siblings, Milton, Jr. and Edward Dutton, and Marion Marrero. Known for her warmth and dedication, she was adored by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. A Celebration Service honoring the life and legacy of the late Eva Mae Marrero will be held in the Chapel of Charbonnet Labat Glapion Funeral Home, 1615 St. Philip Street, New Orleans, LA 70116 on Thursday, November 7, 2024 10 am.
