Everette Pou Obituary

Everette Pou, 82, of 160 Pou Road died Thursday, February 21, 2008, in Saluda Nursing Center.

Born in Saluda County, he was a son of the late Tillman Benjamin Pou, Sr. and Connie Ridgell Pou. He was a U.S. Army veteran and served during World War II. Mr. Pou had retired as a manager from Pepsi Cola Bottling Company in Hartville. After retiring he sold and repaired Scottsman Ice Machines. He was a member of Woodmen of the World and was an active member of Sardis Baptist Church.

Surviving are four brothers and three sisters-in-law, Allison and Virginia Pugh of Laurens, SC, Albert and Evelyn Pugh of Greenville, Judge Samuel C. Pou of Bennettsville and T.B. and Jackie Pugh of Batesburg; four sisters and two brothers-in-law, Ann Pugh Smith of Greenville, Lynette Walker of Greenville, Eloise and B.F. McGee of Columbia and Judy and Rev. Jim Bray of Augusta, GA, and a sister-in-law, Jean Pou of Statesville, NC.

Two brothers, Ellis Pugh and Broadus Pou and a sister, Mae Rinehart, preceded Mr. Pou in death.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, February 23, 2008, at Sardis Baptist Church with Rev. Dennis Campbell officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Sardis Baptist Church, Cemetery Fund, 218 Sardis Road, Saluda, SC 29138.
