Forty two years has passed since Ferren and I first met we served together in the fire service and law enforcement. Ferren fully dedicated his life to his chosen profession and never said no to any assignment. I ask one final favor my friend , while in gods kingdom watch over and guide your police and fire department.

Prayers are with this family during this most difficult time. During my time in Lafitte, I had the pleasure and honor of working with Ferren. A great man of integrity and loved serving his community. A genuine love for all. R.I.P. my friend.

My Heart goes out to the family and friends of Ferren, He was loved by so many, because of his kindness and love for the people of Lafitte. I first met Ferren as a rookie police officer assigned to Lafitte and like Ed Merida said, he came out after working all day at his regular job, just so we had backup and someone to watch our backs, this man never slept. He was so dedicated to the Lafitte Police Dept. spending endless hours,weekends and holidays working for free, like he always said for his people of Lafitte. The late Great Harry Lee recognized his dedication to helping JPSO, The Sheriff had donated not one but two police units dedicated LFPD, so Ferren had a nice unit to assist us in helping keep Lafitte safe. I could go on and on about his dedication to the Jean Lafitte Fire Dept., but all in all Ferren will be missed by all who knew him, because if you met him He touched your heart. RIP My Fiend.

Ferren was the sweetest person, we grew up together and is someone I will never forget. We lost touch as our lives went into different directions but he always left an impression on everyone he met. Such a giving person and I'm so happy to hear that he was respected and loved by so many. Even though we lost touch, I will miss this sweet Giant of a man. Ferren you are a true Brother in every sense of the word. Countless nights when I was a rookie Sheriff's Deputy assigned to beat 303, you and Jack Hargis came out to ride so that I would not be alone. I can never repay your kindness and concern.
