Frances Mipro Obituary

Frances Mary Mipro passed away on Tuesday, January 30, 2024 at the age of 59 due to complications from myotonic muscular dystrophy. Frances was born on December 12, 1964 to Max and Dorothy Mipro. She was a lifelong resident of New Orleans and the 9th child in a family of twelve children. Before she became disabled, Frances had worked at Mckenzies bakery in Lakeview and as a caretaker for a time to elderly family friends. Frances enjoyed spending time with her family and loved to listen to oldies music on WTIX. She especially enjoyed New Orleans oldies and had a vast knowledge of music/entertainment trivia. She would often quiz family members on song lyrics or the artist who sang a song, often stumping them because she had such a nondescript way of singing her clues. She particularly enjoyed playing Scrabble with her sisters and other board games. Frances was a kind, caring and thoughtful person who faced life's challenges with resilience and grace. She will be greatly missed. She is preceded in death by her father Max Anthony Mipro, Sr., her sister Dorothy Mipro Davis, and her brother Max Anthony Mipro, Jr. She is survived by her mother Dorothy Moore Mipro, her brothers Conrad Mipro (Eva), Paul Mipro, Matthew Mipro, Ernest Mipro (Nancy), and Frank Mipro, her sisters Bridget Mipro, Susan Mipro, Nancy Mipro Shelby (Bobby), and Marianne Mipro, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, and uncles. She was the granddaughter of the late Max and Ethel Monvoisin Mipro and the late Edward and Elvera Poncet Moore. Services will be held on Tuesday, February 6, 2024. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend a mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church, 3368 Esplanade Avenue, New Orleans, LA. Visitation will be from 9:00 - 10:00 a.m. at the church. Interment will be at St. Louis Cemetery No. 3. To view and sign the family guest book, please log on to www.jacobschoenfuneralhomes.com.
