Frank Allo Obituary

Frank Salvador Allo Jr., age 94, gained his wings on Friday, May 26, 2017 at his home in Slidell, LA. He was born on April 10, 1923 in New Orleans, LA and spent most of his adult life in Violet, LA until Hurricane Katrina in 2005. Since Katrina he lived in Lacombe, LA for a couple of years and then spent the remainder of his life in Slidell, LA. Beloved husband of the late Nellie St. Pe Allo for 49 years. Loving father of Frank Allo III (Cynthia), Gaynell Melerine (Nathan), Eddie Allo (Jeri Lynn Miller), Stenni Frazier (Charles) and the late Beverly Arcement (Jerry). Son of the late Rosa Mumphrey Allo and Frank Allo Sr. Brother of the late Ana Mae Allo Eckerle, Murphy Allo (Marie) and Rachel Allo Alexander (Phil). Loved by his grandchildren, Cora Arcement Buffone (Frank), Larry Arcement (Dana), Tracy Arcement (Lori), Michelle Arcement Walsh (Scott), Shelly Allo Guillory (Bobby), Nathan Melerine Jr., Craig Melerine (Hope), Angela Allo Fitzgerald (Brian), Eddie Gonzalez (Brandy), Stacey Munna and Cherie Munna Arabie (Daryl). He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews. Frank had many friends along the way but one that his family will be forever remember and be grateful for is Jeri Lynn Miller. She was his angel these last couple of months and took care of him along with the help of his children. Also survived by his furever friends, his two pups he adored Cali and Codi. Frank was raised on a farm but knowing he did not want to work on his family's farm his whole life, he left and joined the US Army as a bomb specialist during World War II. After he was discharged from the Army he married the love of his life Nellie on November 8, 1942 and raised 5 children. Frank was an inspector for the Port of Embarkation for over 35 years. He also worked part time for Lynn Dean's Elevating Boats for years as an accounting employee. Frank volunteered his services for many years at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Violet, LA. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation to be held at ST. BERNARD MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 701 W. Virtue St., Chalmette, LA on Thursday, June 1, 2017 from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM. A funeral service will begin at 1:00 PM. He will be laid to rest with military honors in St. Bernard Memorial Gardens. oh Paw where do I begin... I knew this day would come when I could no longer hear your voice or see your face and how the thought of you no longer being here would kill me on the spot and now its true... I know you are in heaven reunited with mawmaw and Aunt Bev and other family and that gives me peace. I am so blessed that I had 34 years with you.You never knew you had to wait 60 years to meet your favorite person haha... I am forever grateful for the time I had with you. You were so good to me always. Always there for me no matter what whether it was helping with homework, preparing my favorite snack, saving the middle roll for me, washing clothes, bringing me back and forth to school the list goes on and on... for every milestone I had you were there no questions asked. My babies loved you, I am so grateful they got to meet and know one of my favorite people in the whole world. I will never forget you and I know you are always with us. Thank God you and Stenni are so much alike because with her I still have a piece of you here with me... I have already called her Frank a couple of times since you have gained your wings... and because like you she wont pick first or says she doesn't want something if she thinks you want it ... she is like you worries about her loved ones and makes sure they have what they need before herself. I have no words to say how much you mean to me or how much I love you... until we meet again ... I love you Paw!

Worked with Frank at the Air Force Logistics Office back n the 1970s. Wonderful coworker..At the time, I was about the same age as his daughter, Stennie. So he looked after me and taught me the office routine. A great person.
