Frank Marchese Obituary

Frank J. Marchese, age 94, passed away Thursday, September 15, 2016 at Ormond Nursing and Care Center, under the compassionate care of St. Catherine's Hospice in Destrehan, LA. A dual Citizen of the United States and Italy, he was born in New Orleans, LA, on October 30, 1921, and was a resident of Chalmette for 48 years. Frank was preceded in death by his parents Michele Giuseppe and Giuseppina Di Leonardo Marchese, both of Sicily, Italy, and his wife Violet Augusta Kuster Marchese. He is survived by his daughter, Frances Ann Marchese Conner (John), his grandchildren, Erin Kathleen Conner (Allen Gordon) and Sean Michael Conner (Christina), and great-grandchildren, Emily Sarah Conner and Eric Matthew Conner. He was a World War II Veteran having served in the U.S. Army. Following his term of service, Frank returned to New Orleans where he was told that his former job at Regal Brewery was not available because he had been away too long. This prompted him to fight for his rightful business agent of AFL-CIO Local 151 Brewery Workers tirelessly fighting for the rights of the working class. Frank was a Past Master of the Mt. Moriah-Quitman Lodge No. 59, F. & A.M.; and as a Shriner, he was a Past Captain of the Provost Guard. Interment in Greenwood Cemetery. Services will be private.
