Dr. Oser discharged me from the hospital without diagnosing my broken cheek bone, and he continued to practice medicine for the rest of his career.

I just heard about Dr. Oser's death on Monday and I am so very sorry to hear this. He was not only a great doctor, but a wonderful man. When I was going through a really tough health situation I also lost my beloved dog. He was so kind to me and one day in his office he took out the prescription pad and wrote, "Get another dog." Best prescription ever! I sure will miss this man.

Having seen him only 5 short months ago, I was very surprised and deeply saddened to learn of Dr. Oser's death. He was my son's neurologist for the past 10 years. We drove from Shreveport twice a year to see him because he was the first neurologist in my son's 30 year lifetime who seemed to truly care and treat my son and I with true respect! Dr. Oser's lighthearted nature was always a blessing too. His wife, children and extended family are in our thoughts and prayers for God's peace, understanding and comfort.

I am so sadden by the lose of Dr. Oser. He was my mother's physician for many years until she passed. He took excellent care of her, as I always accompanied her during visits. I too eventually needed his care and became a patient of his. I knew that I would receive the same care he had provided to my mother. Please accept my sympathy and prayers for your great loss.

My sympathies to the Oser family for your loss. I just found out today about the Drs.' passing, it was quite a shock. I always enjoyed my bi-annual office visits, somehow, we always managed to make each other laugh. I will miss him and keep him in my prayers.

We grew-up with Rusty beginning at Holy Name. Many fond memories of football on Octavia Street or at the Oertlings home. How many ice-teas at Walgreens after classes at Jesuit and before the street-car rides home!? Clearly a bright guy from the very beginning with a fun sense of humor and a mix of mischief. I'm sure that he made many friends and served his patients well.

Dear Lisette and family,
I am so sorry for your incredible loss. From everything I know about Rusty, although much too short of a life, it was one well lived. My thoughts are with you at such a difficult time.

Dear Mrs. Oser,
Marie-Louise and I are in Santa Fe and will be unable to attend Rusty's funeral. His death was a real shock to me.
A good many years ago I had the pleasure of teaching Rusty upper division French at Jesuit High School. He was a fine student and a gentle, unassuming young man who was thought well of by the faculty and his fellow Blue Jays. None of this has changed over the years.
In later years we would frequently meet over the weekend at the grocery, catch up, and discuss what we were planning to cook.
Please be assured of my prayers upward sent.

Lisette and family,
I will never forget the few years I worked with Dr. Oser. He was perhaps the kindest and gentlest man I would ever know.
I was so sorry and sad when Hurricane Katrina separated our business relationship. Dr. Oser was a very special person, and I will never forget him.
