Frank Joseph Pelitere

PELITERE Frank Joseph Pelitere Sr., a WWII Navy Veteran passed away on Saturday, December 15, 2012 at the age of 86. Beloved husband of 65 years to Inez Baham Pelitere. Son of the late Manuel and Marie Corne Pelitere. Loving father of Frank Joseph Pelitere, Jr. (Judy) and the late Janice Pelitere Hemelt (Leo). Brother of the late Earl Pelitere. Proud grandfather of Michael Pelitere, Heather Pelitere, Ryan Hemelt, Andrea Lang and Rebecca Butler. Also survived by 8 great grandchildren. Frank was born November 20, 1926 in Chalmette, LA and was a resident of St. Bernard Parish for 83 years. He resided at Woldenberg Village in Algiers, LA for the past 3 years. Frank was a lifelong parishioner of Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church where he served as an usher for more than 15 years. He was an active member of the VFW Chalmette Post for 40 years. Frank retired from Exxon - Chalmette Plant after 35 years of employment and was a member of Exxon Annuitants Club. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation to be held at ST. BERNARD MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 701 W. Virtue St., Chalmette, LA on Thursday, December 20th from 9:30 AM - 11:30 AM. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Church, 2320 Paris Road, Chalmette, LA beginning at 12:00PM.
