Gary Brasor Obituary

PRINCETON -- Gary Brasor, devoted husband of Elizabeth Harabin and beloved father of Julia Harabin, Wyman Crosby, Calvin Collins, and Mary Allerton, passed away Sunday in the early morning hours, surrounded by his family.



A man of rare integrity who lived every day to the fullest, he left his family with a shining example and a lifetime of irreplaceable memories. His professional life reflected the passion and vitality that characterized everything he accomplished.

He was born in St. Albans, VT July 18, 1943 to Marguerite and Winston Brasor. He was a graduate of Deerfield Academy. He received a Bachelor of Arts from Bowdoin College and his Ph.D. from The University of Indiana. As a Fulbright scholar, 1965-1967, he studied in France at the University of Bordeaux and taught American Studies at the University of Lyons. He taught French language and literature at Indiana University, St. Mary's College of Maryland and Howard University (1967-1979). He worked as a technical writer for Digital Equipment Corporation, Wang Laboratories and Polaroid Corporation (1980-1995). For the past 10 years he served as associate director of the National Association of Scholars.

Viewing was held Tuesday evening at the Kimble Funeral Home in Princeton.

A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. this morning at Princeton Presbyterian Church in West Windsor.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Brasor Family College Fund.

my condolences goes out to the family and friends of Mr. Brasor. Death is difficult to endure, especially when its the death of a loved one. We all look forward to the time when death and sickness will be no more. Until then, may the many prayers and words of encouragement be a source of comfort to both the family and friends.
