Gene Bentley

Gene Bentley (Everywhere Shorty), age 57, entered into eternal rest on Monday, November 21, 2022 at Touro Hospital. Mr. Bentley is the beloved son of Barbara Lacen Keller and the late Willie E. Bentley. Father of Alicia Green and brother of Dawn Bentley-Johnson (Glenn, Sr.), Kelly Bentley Dixon, Cantina Rankins Barksdale (Tyronne), Stephanie Bentley-Jones and Stephen Bentley (Sabrina). Uncle of Zihara Rankins, Michael Brooks, Jr. and Jelani Robinson. Also survived by four grandchildren, additional nieces and a nephew, other relatives, friends and special brother, Troy Rhodies (Raven). Relatives and friends; Pastor, officers and members of Israelites Baptist Church and New Home Ministries; Staff and employees of The State of Louisiana Dept. of Children and Family Services, City of New Orleans, Orleans Parish Criminal District Court (CIS), Lowe's Store #1085, Kenner Fire Department; members of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc., Epsilon Phi Sigma Alumnae Chapter, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., New Orleans Alumnae Chapter, The Mystic Krewe of Femme Fatale and all other organizations that the family is affiliated with are invited to attend the funeral. A Celebration service honoring the life and legacy of the late Mr. Gene Bentley will be held in the Chapel of Charbonnet Labat Glapion Funeral Home, 1615 St. Philip Street, New Orleans, LA 70116 on Saturday, December 3, 2022, at 10 am, Elder Kelly Bentley Dixon, Officiating.
