George Nicholas Obituary

NICHOLAS George Willie Nicholas, Jr. passed away peacefully on May 28, 2013. He was 68 years old. Mr. Nicholas was born on July 14, 1944 in New Orleans, LA to the late George Willie Nicholas, Sr. and Clothilde Crowley Nicholas. He was the father of Czar and Regent Nicholas. Mr. Nicholas accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Savior and prior to his illness was a frequent visitor of the Bethel AME Church, New Orleans, LA., where his brother-in-law, Rev. Douglas Taylor is pastor. Mr. Nicholas is survived by three sisters, JoAnn Nicholas Kennedy, Rev. Stephanie Nicholas Taylor, MD and Claudette Nicholas Jackson Sislo. He is also survived by his grandson, Maren Hereford; nieces and nephews, Jo Nell Kennedy Cherot (Christopher), Joe Nathan (Niya), and Jon Kennedy, Courtney Taylor Welch (Dedrick), Ashley and Candace Taylor, Mark and Amirah Jackson and McNally and Braxton Sislo; a devoted aunt and cousin, Nancy Crowley and Sharon Vaughn, and a host of cousins. A graveside service will be held at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 1, 2013, Rev. Douglas Taylor, officiating. Interment, Providence Park and Mausoleum, 8200 Airline Dr., Metairie, LA.
