George Howard Nunnery Jr.

George Howard Nunnery, Jr. departed this life on September 17, 2023 at the Veterans Memorial Hospital in New Orleans, Louisiana at the age of 69. He was a proud graduate of Alcee Fortier High School in 1973 and took pride in the fact that he could type 60 words per minute (wpm). He also enlisted into the United States Air Force in October, 1974 and took pride in being a U. S. Veteran. He worked at Greyhound Bus Lines as a Bus Driver for 36 years from 1980-2016. He started out in New Orleans and later moved to St. Louis, Missouri where he finished out his career. He was preceded in death by his parents Stella Mae Howard and George Howard Nunnery, Sr.; and his brother, Bryant O'Dell Nunnery (Robbin). "Junior" is survived by Fannie Porter Nunnery, siblings: Linda Marie Nunnery, Calvin James Nunnery, and Cathy Nunnery (Peter). Aisha Herman Pearl, Goddaughter, Terrell Wilson, Athaliah Stanback ("TT"), Jonathan, ("JJ"), Darecia, and Myesha Shannon Porter, step great-grandchildren, and many stepchildren; a host of nieces, nephews (greats and grands); aunts and uncles; cousins, and friends. The family would like to thank the nurses and doctors at the Veterans Memorial Hospital, Transitional Living in the Azalea Unit for their excellent care.
