Geraldine Fabre Obituary

Geraldine Tucker Fabre was called to everlasting peace and joy on August 30, 2018. She was born on February 02, 1928 in New Orleans to the late Gerald and Adele Niehues Tucker. Geraldine and her husband, the late Anthony "Jack" Fabre, lovingly raised their family in Arabi, LA before relocating to Lafayette following Hurricane Katrina. She is predeceased by her beloved daughter, Kathleen Fabre and grandson, Eric Fabre. Geraldine is survived by four adoring sons, Robert, Gerald (Steve), Kevin, and Jack (Michelle) Fabre. She also leaves behind several grandchildren including: Ashley Larson (Scott), Adam Fabre (Nicole), Michael Fabre (Catherine), Ann Evans (John), Gregory Fabre, Patrick Held (Kristy), Courtney Held, Kirby Silas (Andrew), Shelby Fabre, and Blake Fabre (Brittany), as well as by sixteen great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Beverly Tucker Fabre. A kind, loving and resourceful lady, Geraldine was loved and respected by all she met. Her life centered on her family whom she showered with unwavering love and devotion while modeling the highest of moral values. She was a dedicated fan of the Saints, LSU Tigers, and Acadiana High School. Always up-to-date with the news, she enjoyed reading the daily newspaper, watching "Wheel of Fortune", "Jeopardy", and re-runs of "Gomer Pyle" and "Hogan's Heroes". A smart and hard-working lady, Geraldine graduated "Salutatorian" from Nicholls High School and was employed by Latapie Plumbing until the age of 77. She will forever be a part of us and lovingly remembered. A Memorial Service is scheduled for Friday, September 7, 2018 at JACOB SCHOEN & SON, 3827 Canal Street. Visitation will be from 11:00-12:15pm, immediately followed by A Memorial Mass in the J. Garic Schoen Chapel and then Interment at St. Vincent de Paul Cemetery #1 on Louisa Street.
