Ghaith George "Richy" Ammari

1971 - 2023

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Ghaith "Richy" Ammari, a son, brother, husband, father, and friend. Richy Ammari, 51, was born in Jordan on September 25, 1971, to George and Majdaleen Ammari. He is survived by his loving wife, Jennifer, whom he met 28 years ago; their three sons, Brennan, Blaine, and Brock; his brothers Marviani "Marv" (Suna) and Zeid (Sarah); his mother and many nieces, nephews, and friends. His extended family includes mother-in-law Charlotte Wightman and brothers-in-law Mark (Courtney) and Thomas (Silvia) Wightman who helped to define what the word family means. Richy was a longtime resident of Covington, Louisiana. Richy is preceded in death by his father, George Nasir Ammari and father-in-law Thomas Henry Wightman, III. Richy departed this world on August 9, 2023. As a revered and accomplished business leader and cherished restaurant owner, he leaves a legacy that will inspire and endure. He moved to the United States in 1989 to attend high school. He joined his brother Marv in 1991 at what became the first in a large family business. Later joined by Zeid, the brothers expanded the business into Creole Cuisine Restaurant Concepts. Richy most recently served as its Chief Administrative Officer and was at the forefront of the company's finance and human resources departments for 30 years. He was passionate about the family business and dedicated his life to making a successful local company that cared about its employees beyond the walls of the restaurants. In the community, Richy was a pillar of support. His loving and giving personality was committed to contributing to various charitable causes while actively engaging in initiatives to nurture the well-being of those less fortunate. "Known for his love of others, he gave and was never willing to take. A great loss for our community." Leaving behind a legacy of achievement, Richy Ammari is survived by his loving family, loyal friends, and a devoted team of employees who became like family over the years. In one final act of heroism and love, Richy gave in death as he gave in life. He gave the gift of life through organ donation. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation). JDRF works tirelessly to find better treatments, preventions, and ultimately, a cure for type 1 diabetes (T1D) and its complications through critical research.
