Gloria Power Burmaster, the beloved wife of Otis "Sonny" Wendell Burmaster and devoted mother of Angelle Burmaster Weidenbacher (Steven) and Ashley Burmaster Helmstetter (Christian), passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, April 8, 2021, at the age of 79. Gloria was born on July 28, 1941, in the Irish Channel of New Orleans, to the late Marion Weibelt Power and Timothy Joseph Power and was the youngest of seven siblings. She was a 1959 graduate of Redemptorist High School, a resident of Jefferson Parish for over 45 years and was married to her loving husband, Sonny, for more than 49 years. Sister of William "Pat" Power and the late John Power, Joseph "Earl" Power, Terrence "Terry" Power, Marion Power Keller, and Irma Power Hassinger. Sister-in-law of Ione Power, Cecelia Power, Frank Cusimano and the late Francesca Cusimano, Alicia Power, Charles Hassinger, Sr., and Irvin Keller, Sr. Grandma to her four beautiful grandchildren Hayden and Hendrix Weidenbacher and Addison and Owen Helmstetter. Aunt and great-aunt to numerous nieces and nephews. Gloria will be remembered for the smiles, laughter, and tears of joy she brought to the hearts and faces of all those who loved her. Relatives and friends were invited to attend a Funeral Mass at St. Mary's Assumption Church on Friday, April 16, 2021, at Noon. Visitation began at 10:00 am. Interment followed at Greenwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in her memory to the Alzheimer's Association Louisiana Chapter, 3445 N. Causeway Blvd., Metairie, LA 70002.

On behalf of the Brothers of the Sacred Heart Alumni Association and Brother Martin High School, I offer our prayers and condolences. We will say a Mass in her memory.

Father of all, we pray to you for Gloria, and for all those whom we love but see no longer. Grant to them eternal rest. Let light perpetual shine upon them. May her soul and the souls of all the departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace.
