Helen Turner Livingston Hoffman, age 83 of Petersburg, WV, formerly of Maysville, WV, passed away on Saturday, June 23, 2018 at Grant Rehabilitation and Care Center in Petersburg, WV. She was born on January 27, 1935, in Washington, DC, the daughter of the late Donald Jamison Livingston and the late Dorothy Louise Knott Inman. On February 14, 1953, Helen married Joseph Louis Hoffman, who preceded her in death on August 18, 2016.
Mrs. Hoffman was a 1953 graduate of Roosevelt High School in Greenbelt, MD and was a Mother and Homemaker. She was a member of the Cabins Assembly of God Church and belonged to a sewing club in Maysville. She was a gardener and a hard worker.
Mrs. Hoffman is survived by: a daughter, Linda Burton and husband, James, of Moorefield, WV; 2 sons, Joseph Allan Hoffman and wife, Gloria, of Crawfordville, FL and David Louis Hoffman and wife, Maria, of Fredricksburg, VA; a sister, Eileen Troth and husband Richard of Orano, ME; 2 brothers, Hugh Livingston of Columbia, MD, Charles Inman and wife Diana of Mt. Airy, MD; 6 grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by, a daughter, Sharon Price.
Mrs. Hoffman's family will receive friends on Thursday, June 28, 2018, 12-2 PM at the Basagic Funeral Home in Petersburg. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 PM in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Coleman Clark officiating. Interment will be in Maple Hill Cemetery in Petersburg. Linda, Dave, Jody and families, I am so sorry for your loss. Helen was a special friend and I loved her dearly. I never got to see her as often as I would have liked, but she was always on my mind.
