Henry Brown Obituary

Henry Alvin Brown affectionately known as Paw Paw Brown departed this earthly life on Sunday, January 29, 2023 at the age of 92. Henry was born to the late Gaynell Porche Brown and Dave Brown Sr. in New Orleans, La. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 47 years, LeeBertha B. Brown. Father to Ronald Davis Jr; loved as daughters: Cynthia Mondy, Takisha Wright and Lucy Fisher. Loving brother of Ida B. Cambrice of Richmond, California, and the late Dave Brown Jr., George Brown, Wilbert Brown, Stella B. Fleming and Rose Martin. Also cherishing his memories are six grandchildren, a host of other relatives and friends. Loving Lady and special friend Ms. Diane Higgins. Henry was educated in the Orleans Parish School System. He retired as a Truck driver after 30 years of service at McDermott Inc. and 25 years of service as a Delivery Driver at Eloquent Floral Shop. Henry was a Deacon at Mt. Pilgrim 4th Baptist Church for 60 years. Native of Algiers and resident of Marrero for 45 years. Always joking and the life of the party, he will be missed by all that knew him. The family would like to thank: Jean Carmichael, Cynthia Scott, Willie Mae Clofer, Darlene Wright, Louise Bradley, Notre Dame Home Health and Hospice, Tulane Stroke Team and Ochsner Clinics for the compassionate care provided to Mr. Brown. Relatives and friends, Pastors, officers and members of Mt. Pilgrim 4th Baptist Church and all neighboring churches, Oak Villa Senior Apartments, US Foods, Wynhoven Health Care Center, Algiers Charter School Association, Jefferson Parish School System, Port of New Orleans, Waste Management, Waste Pro, L&R Security and Oakwood Mall are invited to attend the Celebration of Life Service at Mt. Pilgrim 4th Baptist Church, 429 Newton Street, New Orleans, La. 70114 on Tuesday, February 7, 2023 for 10:00 a.m. Pastor Larry Steib officiating.
